JHPIEGO, an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins University. It is currently supporting three programmes in the state.

- Strengthening Pre-service Education- Supported by DIFID
PPFP/PPIUCD scale-up program has been a resounding success. The proposed program will build on the existing program’s strategy of strengthening the public health system’s capacity to implement, manage and monitor the PPFP/PPIUCD program to expand PPFP services. The current scale up will focus on additional 240 facilities for scale up of PPIUCD services by end of this current financial year.
Following are the activities performed by Jhpiego in order to support this program
JHPIEGO, is providing technical assistance to the Government of Uttar Pradesh to strengthen Pre-Service Education for the nursing-midwifery cadre by strengthening identified government ANMTCs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Training centre), GNM (General Nursing midwife) schools and Colleges of Nursing.
JHPIEGO hais directly supported the PSE Program by establishment of the skills lab, an IT lab and library at the model GNMTC, (General Nursing midwife Training center) Balrampur Hospital, Lucknow, and the model ANMTC, Azamgarh and National Nodal Centre at College of nursing Kanpur.
