Evidence Action scales proven development interventions to improve the lives of millions of people. It implements cost-effective interventions whose efficacy is backed by substantial rigorous evidence. Evidence Action envisions a world where all at-risk children have improved health, increased access to education, and better livelihoods as a result of being free of parasitic worms.
In India, Evidence Action-Deworm the World Initiative is the technical assistance partner to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and state departments for the National Deworming Day. Currently, Evidence Action works with state governments of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tripura, and Chhattisgarh.

In Uttar Pradesh, the organisation is working with the Department of Health, Education, Women and Child Development since April 30, 2015 to provide technical assistance to the deworming program of the state. Evidence Action has supported the state to conduct a prevalence survey to guide the deworming strategy in the state. The organisation leads development of a detailed operations plan specifying roles, responsibilities of key stakeholders, and timelines to support alignment of the program with the National Deworming Day.
Evidence Action has 3-member team at the Lucknow office and a team of 9 Regional Coordinators. Short term staff are hired for 2-3 months during National Deworming Day with one District Coordinator per district and 1 tele-caller per region.
